Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there a charge to park at the Will Rogers Memorial Center?

The demand for parking at the Will Rogers Memorial Center and the Cultural District often exceeds the available parking, thus limiting access to the attractions and events on the complex. This shortage is being addressed in part with the addition of the 1,100 space Western Heritage Garage. A user fee has been implemented to offset the cost of this facility and support continuing parking improvements to assure access to all Cultural District venues.

How much is the parking fee?

Initially, the charge will be $5.00 for parking on lots on the complex with the exception of the Harley Lot (the lot south of Harley Street) which will be $3.00. There are no in and out privileges. The rates are as follows:

Daily and Event Rates

Harley Lot$3
West Lot$5
Museum Lot$5
Amon G. Carter Jr. Garage$5
East Coliseum Lot$5
North Richardson-Bass Lot$5
Equestrian Center Garage$5
Equestrian Lot$5
Western Heritage Garage: 0 - 90 Minutes = $2
with Validation from participating venue
91 Minutes + = $5 Rates are subject to change.

When do the parking fees take effect?

Parking fees will begin on May 1, 2010.

Can I pay with a credit card?

Cash and major credit cards will be accepted. The parking attendants will issue a parking ticket for display in the vehicle and collect payment as vehicles enter, with the exception of the Western Heritage Garage, where attendants will issue a ticket upon entry and accept payment upon exit. Attendants will be available to assist with questions about the Cultural District and daily events.

Are the parking facilities accessible to persons with disabilities?

Spaces are designated throughout the facility for vehicles that display the handicap placard. Parking fees will be assessed for all vehicles.

Will discounts be offered?

The parking fees are dedicated to pay for the new parking garage and for parking system improvements and operational expenses, thus no discounts are offered.

Will any of the Cultural District venues validate for a discount?

Some venues may offer validation for a Western Heritage Garage discount at a rate of $2.00 for the first 90 minutes. The fee for parking in excess of 90 minutes will be $5.00 or the current fee assigned to the garage. Please check with the specific venue for more information.

Will exhibitors, contestants, vendors and sponsors be required to pay each time they come and go?

Multiple day passes may be available to exhibitors, contestants, vendors and event sponsors to allow in/out access during the entire length of a specified event. Rates will be based on the expected demand at the entire facility and the expected number of times that a particular parking space may be turned during an event. Please check with the event promoter or visit culturaldistrictparking.com for more information.

What is the fee for parking a trailer?

The daily rate for parking a trailer will be $3.00 on the Harley Lot and $10.00 on the North Richardson-Bass Lot.
